Electrical Systems:

Infrared is highly effective in diagnosing electrical distribution problems plus a valuable fire prevention tool. Corroded, loose
and defective connections are quickly found using the IR imager. No system is disconnected and processes are never
shutdown. You can see in real-time what is happening to any circuit of your system.
This mage shows a typical overheating connection. This
defect caused unstable voltages to every device connected
to this distribution panel. The connection was found loose
and was probably that way from day one.
The image at right is an overheating disconnect. This defect
was caused by a poor stab connection. This defect was
generating in excess of 300 degrees. Eventually this defect
would have resulted in an electrical fire.
The image at right shows a defective cooler on a High
Voltage transformer. Internal blockage is not allowing
proper oil flow through the right radiator assembly.
This image is an overheating high voltage breaker stab.
This defect is caused by a poor or high resistance
connection.
High Voltage Transformer Failure: This fire was fed by tons of oil for many hours. The
environmental cleanup and replacement cost of this unit was in the millions of dollars. Don't
neglect your HV equipment. IR scans can help your company avoid outages, lost production
and help prevent fires.
